VaPro Plus Pocket Intermittent Catheter 16″

VaPro Plus Pocket catheters provide 100% No Touch Protection with a protective tip and sleeve, and an integrated 1000ml collection bag for catheterization at home or on-the-go. No toilet or receptacle is needed. The collection bag is easy-to-open and easy-to-empty, and includes an anti-reflux valve to prevent backflow of urine. This pocket catheter has a hydrophilic coating, but you don’t have to activate it. It’s 100% ready to use as soon as you take it out of its discreet packaging. The new packaging is easy to open and has a finger hole for easy handling. The VaPro Plus Pocket Catheter also features a protective introducer tip, which is now 50% smaller and more ergonomically shaped. This offers a more comfortable catheter insertion. In addition, it is transparent to aid better visualization. The combination of a protective introducer tip along with the protective sleeve creates a no-touch catheter that’s simple to use.

How it Works

The VaPro Plus Pocket intermittent catheter consists of the following parts:

  • A protective tip helps protect the sterile catheter from bacteria as you insert it. Covering the first 15mm of the distal urethra, this mechanism lessens infection risks by preventing bacteria from entering the urinary tract. A ring cap protects the tip until you’re ready to use the catheter. 50% smaller than the original VaPro catheter protective tip, it is more ergonomically shaped for a more comfortable insertion and transparent to aid visualization.
  • A fully integrated 1000ml collection bag means you do not need to seek out a toilet or receptable to empty. With an anti-reflux valve, its design guards against backflows, and an attached handle allows for clean, convenient emptying.
  • A protective sleeve ensures you can touch the catheter anywhere along its length while guarding against germs and reducing infection risks.
  • A ready-to-use hydrophilic catheter utilizes pure catheter hydration technology for even lubrication and insertion. Ready right out of the package with no extra steps.
  • A large finger hole utilizes tear strips for easy opening, while smooth, rounded eyelets help with inserting and removing the catheter.
  • Compact design can be carried in a pocket or backpack.
  • Phthalate-free PVC construction avoids natural rubber latex.

How to Use VaPro Plus Pocket Intermittent Catheter 16″

  1. Wash your hands as advised by your healthcare practitioner.
  2. Position yourself to carry out intermittent catherization. Manipulate your clothing to access your genitalia.
  3. Open the package. To open, pull finger hole towards you and all the way down.
  4. Remove the catheter from the package.
  5. With the collection bag facing up, hold the catheter in one hand while pushing the bag away from the catheter with the other hand to break the paper band. Unfold collection bag. Leave the catheter on the lap, sink, or other flat surface.
  6.  Hold the gentials with your non-dominant hand. Cleanse the glans as you were trained by your healthcare practitioner.
  7. Remove the cap from the protective tip of catheter.
  8. Hold the catheter in one hand, and with the other hand advance the catheter forward until the tip of the catheter fills the protective tip, taking care that the catheter does not protrude from the tip.
  9. Grasp the catheter before the protective tip plate.
  10. Using your fingers and forefinger of your non-dominant hand, squeeze glans gently to open the urethral opening. With your dominant hand, insert the protective tip until the plate comes in contact with urethral opening.
  11. Insert the catheter forward until urine starts to flow.
  12. Once urine flow has stopped, slowly withdraw the catheter. If urine flows again, pause until urine stops. After you’re sure the bladder is empty, remove the catheter completely.
  13. After catheterizing, hold the collection bag by the handle.
  14. To empty the collection bag before disposing, tear at the arrow to drain.
  15. Dispose of the catheter, collection bag, and packaging in a disposal bin. Do not flush down the toilet.
  16. Wash your hands.
