Description
Mesalt Sodium Chloride Impregnated Gauze
Mesalt Sodium Chloride Impregnated Gauze helps stimulate the cleansing of moist necrosis (slough) in draining infected wounds. Upon contact with wound moisture, sodium chloride is released. Mesalt Sodium Chloride Impregnated Gauze is indicated for use on heavily draining and discharging infected wounds in the inflammatory phase, deep cavity wounds, pressure ulcers, and surgical wounds.
The exudate from the wound releases the sodium chloride from the dressing. Mesalt stimulates the cleansing of heavily draining and discharging wounds in the inflammatory phase by absorbing exudate, bacteria and necrotic material from the wound, thereby facilitating the natural wound healing process.
Benefits of Mesalt
- Absorbs exudate bacteria and necrotic material (slough)
- Stimulates the cleansing of wounds
- Easy application
- Latex free packaging
Wear time
Mesalt should be changed when saturated (usually once a day in heavily exuding wounds), or according to good clinical practice. If the condition of the wound deteriorates, discontinue use and consult a healthcare professional.
