Description
Mepilex Lite Foam Dressing
Conforming to the body’s shape, Mepilex Lite is a thin foam dressing designed to assist with managing no- to low-exudate wounds. Using Safetac technology, Mepilex Lite dressings gently adhere to the skin to remain in place without damaging tissue upon removal. This combination allows for atraumatic dressing changes and reduces maceration risks. Further, the Safetac layer of Mepilex Lite seals the wounds margins to reduce the severity of skin reactions from radiotherapy treatment.
How Do Mepilex Lite Dressings Work?
Each Mepilex Lite dressing features the following components:
- Safetac Technology: prevents the dressing from adhering to the wound bed and seals the wound’s edges preventing exudate from leaking out; lessens the pain during dressing changes
- Foam Pads: draws in fluid for low-exudate wounds and lets the dressing conform to the wound’s shape
- Polyurethane Film: blocks out exterior moisture, bacteria, and viruses; has a high moisture vapor transmission rate (MVTR) to create a balanced healing environment
Benefits
- Conformable: fits into the wound’s shape, including challenging areas to dress like breasts and armpits
- Comfortable: softer material for easy usage
- Versatile: can be cut to fit specific wound shapes
- Seals: keeps out exterior contaminants and reduces the risk of maceration for a faster recovery while keeping a successful moisture-balance
- Silicone Adhesive: a more gentle adhesion that reduces potential pain and irritation during dressing. Mepilex Lite can be lifted and adjusted without losing adherent properties.
