Things have been going so well here at Medical Monks! Sales are way up and, more importantly, we’re getting to know more and more about all of you. Every day, our reps interact with lots of folks from all over the country. Over the past few years we’ve shared, however briefly, the hopes and fears and joys and laughs of so many. We feel privileged to have an occasional peek into the personal worlds of our customers. Now, we’d like to return the favor.
Each of our staff members were sent a list of ten questions and asked to answer whichever ones struck their fancy. Below are their lightly edited responses. We hope they’ll give you a little window into our corner of the world.
DANE vice president
Q: Mayonnaise: delicious or disgusting? Defend your answer.
A: Definitely delicious, you can’t go wrong putting it on a turkey sandwich. But it can be abused. Some coleslaws don’t have enough mayonnaise and they’re too watery. But some potato or chicken salads have too much mayonnaise and they’re too creamy. Doing the condiment justice is a serious balancing act.
Q: If you won the Powerball would you take the lump sum or the yearly payments? Why?
A: I would take yearly payments. Nobody needs THAT much money right away. I’m still young enough that spreading it out over a long period of time makes sense. But you better believe I’m not telling anybody that I won.
PENNY customer service agent
Q: Do you have a favorite pet, past or present? If so, describe him/her.
A: My favorite pet is my dog Pinky! She is part Jack Russell and Pitbull mix. I love her so much! When it’s time to go play or you talk to her she turns pink under her white coat! She has a loving heart with a little bit of spice.
Q: What was your favorite TV show when you were a kid?
A: Scooby Doo was my favorite cartoon. Also the Carol Burnett Show.
Q: If you could be any book character for a day, who would it be and why?
A: Mary Poppins. A spoonful of sugar helps the medicine go down in the most delightful way! She was so fun and light hearted! If I was a Nanny I would like to be just like her.
JESSICA order facilitator
Q: If you weren’t selling Medical Supplies right now, what would you be doing?
A: Running a hotel in a sunny tourist destination. People always seem so happy on vacation, so it would be fun to come to work and greet the customers and I love hotels!
Q: Mayonnaise: delicious or disgusting? Defend your answer.
A: DELICIOUS! My whole family gets really grossed out when we have cookouts because I load my hot dogs with just Mayo. Or Miracle Whip… I actually love both! (Ed. Note: …this is objectively gross.)

A: I am terrified of heights.

A: The lump sum because I could bless a lot of people.
Q: Are you more afraid of heights or cramped spaces?
A: Heights because you could fall and die.
MARJORIE customer service agent
Q: If you weren’t selling Medical Supplies right now, what would you be doing?
A: When I was a hairdresser a client worked at a medical supplier and offered me a job. That’s how I started selling medical supplies. At that point I was ready to give up hair and would have become a nurse.
Q: Do you have a favorite pet, past or present? If so, describe him/her.
A: My rescue Nemo, a five year-old Shih Tzu.
HOLLY return coordinator
Q: What do you typically listen to as you’re sitting in morning traffic?
A: I usually listen to a morning radio show on my way to work. I enjoy the daily mix of topics discussed and music in between each conversation.
Q: Do you have a favorite pet, past or present? If so, describe him/her.
A: I adopted my adorable pit bull when he was seven. He’s a rescue dog who loves pizza, fluffy blankets and walks around the neighborhood.
ADAM customer service agent
Q: Have you ever been skydiving? If so, what was it like? If not, explain why you’re a coward.
A: I have never been, would never go, and I resent the implication.
Q: If you could be any book character for a day, who would it be and why?
A: I want my answer to be something like Atticus Finch because he’s so wise and righteous and compassionate. But in reality it’s the Silver Surfer. He surfs on that silver thing!
