Step 1: Preparing for Wound Care

• Ensure your workspace is clean and free from contaminants before proceeding to change your dressing.
• Gather the necessary supplies listed in the Patient Directions.
• Thoroughly wash and dry your hands to maintain proper hygiene.

Step 2: Removing the Used Mepilex Border Dressing

• Begin by gently lifting a corner of the Mepilex Border dressing and carefully peel it away from your wound.
• If there is any wound filler in place, remove it as per the provided instructions.
• Place the used dressing in a plastic bag and dispose of it appropriately. Don’t forget to remove your gloves.
• Reinforce hand hygiene by washing and drying your hands once again.

Step 3: Cleansing Your Wound

• Use a wound cleanser from the supplies listed in the Patient Directions to cleanse your wound.
• Ensure that the skin surrounding the wound is dried using dry gauze or a clean cloth.
• If required, follow instructions to replace any wound filler.
